Welcome to Gryx, your personal cinema archive application. Gryx allows you to track shows and movies you want to watch, are watching, or have finished. You can build beautiful poster cards with your own screenshots, write episode notes, and rate your viewing journey.
This Privacy Policy explains our approach to privacy when you use the Gryx application. Our core design principle is that all of your personal content remains personal and under your control - everything is stored locally on your device, not on our servers.

Automatically Collected Information
Gryx is designed to operate without collecting personal data on our servers. We do not collect any personal usage analytics, device information, or tracking data from your use of the application. By design, everything stays within your device.
If you choose to use optional cloud backup features that may be provided by your operating system or device manufacturer, those activities are governed by the respective privacy policies of those services.
Local Storage First Design
All your personal movie archive, notes, screenshots, and ratings are stored exclusively on your local device. We have no technical ability to access, view, or retrieve this information, even if we wanted to.
This "local-first" architecture means:
- Your personal cinema collection never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share it yourself
- We don't have central servers storing your viewing history, notes, or personal ratings
- You have complete control over all of your data - you can export, back up, or delete it at any time
- Even if our application services were to be discontinued, your data remains with you on your device
When you use Gryx, your privacy is baked into the architecture, not just promised in a policy.
How We Use Information
Since all your information is stored locally on your device, we don't actually access, use, or process any of your personal data. The only processing that happens is done locally on your device for the sole purpose of providing the application functionality to you:
Tracking your movie and show progress
Displaying your custom poster cards
Saving your episode notes and ratings
Organizing your personal cinema archive
We never use your personal content for any advertising, marketing, or any other purpose that isn't core functionality of the application that you expect.
Security
While we've designed Gryx to keep your data on your device, the security of your data ultimately depends on your device security. We recommend:

Use device passcodes, fingerprint, or face recognition to prevent unauthorized access.
Backup Your Data
Use your preferred backup solution to ensure you don't lose your cinema archive.
Keep App Updated
Install application updates to ensure you have the latest security improvements.
Your Responsibility
You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your own archive.
Because your data is stored only on your device, if you lose your device, you lose your data unless you've backed it up. We encourage you to regularly export or backup your Gryx data using the export features within the application.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our application features, practices, or for legal or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policy periodically for any changes.
